Drilling Rig High-Pressure Hot Water Pressure Washer

Problem

High pressure hot water is preferred for removing oil-based mud. However, historically electric heated steam cleaners and pressure washers have had problems with the short life of the heater elements.

Causes
  • The low water level in the heater exposes the elements to the air which causes them to overheat and fail.
  • When the spray water is in direct contact with the heater elements, the minerals in the water become deposited on the elements which causes them to overheat and fail.
Solution

Provide a failsafe method to assure the elements are immersed when the elements are powered. In our design redundant safeties are provided:

  • Mechanical float valve maintains water level above the heater elements.
  • Electric level switch shuts off power should the water level be too low.
  • This design eliminates the potential for heater failure from element exposure to air.
  • Eliminate element direct contact with the spray water.
  • Our heat exchanger separates the high-pressure spray water from the heat transfer water which is in direct contact with the heater elements.

This design eliminates the problem of heater failure from mineral build up on the heater elements.

Our heavy-duty equipment is offered in a wide range of pressure and flow combinations for hazardous, non-hazardous, marine, land, multi-user and fully automated applications
